Cold war 1989-1991 under Bush's Administration Essay

Cold war 1989-1991 under Bush's Administration - Essay Example The gauge to think about whether to mediate was diverse for each situation. The significant qualities of post-Cold War clashes were that they didn't identify with superpower fulfillment. U.S. interests didn't confront extreme danger, as it was vulnerable War math. The hardship at distant spots was not important to the national security of U.S. also, the essential interests were pretty much secure, with no convincing motivations to mediate. There was no encounter with Soviet Union who was previously the hazardous competitor for U.S. interests. With the finish of the Cold War, inconvenience instigated at different spots prompting a progression of occasions of between state animosity. U.S. had no conclusive stage to mediate, either political or lawful. Its international strategy was against, â€Å"interference in the inside undertakings of others. U.S. couldn't seek after a strategy of neutralist, it required dynamic political and monetary help from governments and U.S. was opposed to present points of reference which influenced their relations with different nations. Another significant thought was about adherence to worldwide law administering mediations. Without the right global lawful method of reasoning, any intercession would be named as a demonstration of greedy, with roused wants and with shrouded plan. Choices for intercession should have been taken, clarified and shielded. The separation of the Soviet Union was a significant turn of events, however no American interests were compromised. In addition, it was an ideological clash and force battle between two groups, both owing loyalty to Communism. Mediation choices have expansive financial ramifications, other than the requirement for strong residential help. Epic Of Gilgamesh (742 words) Essay Example For Students

Epic Of Gilgamesh (742 words) Essay Epic Of GilgameshEssay over The Epic of Gilgamesh The principle character in the book The Epic of Gilgamesh will be Gilgamesh himself. In the start of the book one understands that Gilgamesh is a haughty individual. Gilgamesh is loaded with himself and misuses his privileges as lord. He has sex with the virgins of his town and goes about as if he is a divine being. Albeit a few perusers of this exemplary book may state that Gilgamesh doesn't transform from the earliest starting point of the book, it can without much of a stretch be deciphered the other way. All through the book, numerous things cause Gilgamesh to change. He increases a companion, he becomes well known by executing Humbaba, and he attempts to become godlike due to the demise of Enkidu. Through these fundamental activities his character changes and he improves as an individual. To start with, the journey for everlasting status after the passing of Enkidu shows that Gilgamesh has changed. Gilgamesh becomes terrified when he understands that he isnt eternal. After the demise of Enkidu, Gilgamesh attempts to discover eternality by attempting to cross the sea to discover it. He sounds despicable as he meanders aimlessly of his explanation behind attempting to discover everlasting life. His condition of being at this part in the book, which is the end, is totally not the same as his pompous start of this epic. Gilgamesh has gone from presumptuous to frightened. Second, the demise of Humbaba changes Gilgamesh. Humbaba is malicious. Numerous individuals who live in the city of Uruk dread Gilgamesh. Most would state that Gilgamesh himself is, truth be told, abhorrent. He engages in sexual relations with the virgins, he does what he needs, and he will in general irritate the divine beings. He has loads of issues with Ishtar. By going into the woods and confronting Humbaba, Gilgamesh becomes famous and changes the perspectives on the individuals in his city. This is a truly doubtful point. Indeed, the past of Gilgamesh doesn't change, however the extraordinary deed of executing Humbaba, makes him a superior individual since he secures his city. This is another questionable point. Most would state he does this just to become well known, however that isn't the situation. Gilgamesh does this due to his affection for Enkidu and his kin; he has transformed from the earliest starting point of the epic. At long last and above all, the principle reason that Gilgamesh changes from the earliest starting point of the book is the fellowship that he has with Enkidu. Enkidu is made to make Gilgamesh progressively human. In the principal passage of the book the divine beings are furious with Gilgamesh and send down an equivalent of himself, they send down Enkidu. In the wake of turning out to be companions, Gilgamesh changes since he has an equivalent to be with. Enkidu and Gilgamesh become as close as siblings. Along these lines, an entirely doubtful point comes up. Were Enkidu and Gilgamesh darlings? The appropriate response is clearly yes. What focuses in the book show this? They rest clasping hands, Gilgamesh adores Enkidu like a lady, and Gilgamesh goes practically crazy after the passing of Enkidu. The purpose of Enkidu being an admirer of Gilgamesh is significant. It permits the peruser to comprehend the thinking of Gilgamesh evolving. There are no adjustments in Gilgamesh as an individual until Enkidu enters the image. Clearly he is the purpose behind every single inevitable change in the character and masculinity of Gilgamesh. In the event that the conviction and comprehension of Gilgamesh and Enkidu being substantially more than old buddies is available, at that point the comprehension of why Gilgamesh changes in the book is likewise present. On the off chance that Gilgamesh is only companions with Enkidu some change is conceivable, yet not practically complete review as Gilgamesh does in the book. Individuals change more if there is sex included and there is a profound relationship. .u93dd287300ff6587b4a94f4b6c3057c4 , .u93dd287300ff6587b4a94f4b6c3057c4 .postImageUrl , .u93dd287300ff6587b4a94f4b6c3057c4 .focused content region { min-stature: 80px; position: relative; } .u93dd287300ff6587b4a94f4b6c3057c4 , .u93dd287300ff6587b4a94f4b6c3057c4:hover , .u93dd287300ff6587b4a94f4b6c3057c4:visited , .u93dd287300ff6587b4a94f4b6c3057c4:active { border:0!important; } .u93dd287300ff6587b4a94f4b6c3057c4 .clearfix:after { content: ; show: table; clear: both; } .u93dd287300ff6587b4a94f4b6c3057c4 { show: square; progress: foundation shading 250ms; webkit-progress: foundation shading 250ms; width: 100%; obscurity: 1; progress: murkiness 250ms; webkit-change: mistiness 250ms; foundation shading: #95A5A6; } .u93dd287300ff6587b4a94f4b6c3057c4:active , .u93dd287300ff6587b4a94f4b6c3057c4:hover { haziness: 1; change: darkness 250ms; webkit-progress: darkness 250ms; foundation shading: #2C3E50; } .u93dd287300ff6587b4a94f4b6c3057c4 .focused content zone { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u93dd287300ff6587b4a94f4b6c3057c4 .ctaText { outskirt base: 0 strong #fff; shading: #2980B9; text dimension: 16px; textual style weight: striking; edge: 0; cushioning: 0; text-design: underline; } .u93dd287300ff6587b4a94f4b6c3057c4 .postTitle { shading: #FFFFFF; text dimension: 16px; text style weight: 600; edge: 0; cushioning: 0; width: 100%; } .u93dd287300ff6587b4a94f4b6c3057c4 .ctaButton { foundation shading: #7F8C8D!important; shading: #2980B9; fringe: none; outskirt span: 3px; box-shadow: none; text dimension: 14px; textual style weight: intense; line-tallness: 26px; moz-outskirt sweep: 3px; text-adjust: focus; text-adornment: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-stature: 80px; foundation: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/modules/intelly-related-posts/resources/pictures/straightforward arrow.png)no-rehash; position: outright; right: 0; top: 0; } .u93dd287300ff6587b4a94f4b6c3057c4:hover .ctaButton { foundation shading: #34495E!important; } .u93dd287300ff6587b4a9 4f4b6c3057c4 .focused content { show: table; stature: 80px; cushioning left: 18px; top: 0; } .u93dd287300ff6587b4a94f4b6c3057c4-content { show: table-cell; edge: 0; cushioning: 0; cushioning right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-adjust: center; width: 100%; } .u93dd287300ff6587b4a94f4b6c3057c4:after { content: ; show: square; clear: both; } READ: Essay about Othello, By William Shakespeare Essay In request to fulfill Enkidu, Gilgamesh needs to change, and he does, all through their relationship. Issues on Women and Homophobia an Example of the Topic Psychology Essays by

Issues on Women and Homophobia 1. What issues including straight ladies have been settled since the 1920's in the United States, and which have not? What do you see occurring later on, when and why? Need exposition test on Issues on Women and Homophobia theme? We will compose a custom exposition test explicitly for you Continue The fight for female testimonial finished on August 18, 1920, when Tennessee turned into the thirty-6th state to sanction the Nineteenth Amendment, conceding ladies the option to cast a ballot. Following endorsement of the Nineteenth Amendment, ladies made significant advances in political and financial life. Dr. Riesman in his investigation of the essential changes occurring in the American characters during the twentieth century (that is, from internal coordinated to external coordinated) found that the developing pre-occupation with demonstrations of utilization mirrors the change. The ladies at that point were gone up against with a large group of new, differed and troublesome issues of alteration inside a concise timeframe. Ladies were attracted to try and to take a stab at something new and not stall out with the conventional perspectives and getting things done. In those days during the 60s, the garments that the old fashioned hip bounce specialists wore were articulations of inpiduality yet they even conveyed a reason which was an utilitarian one. Ladies discussed a readiness to make their very own distinction regardless of a few limitations. At the point when one thinks about the character emergency that diseases individuals, one can perceive the association between this class and its draw on ladies at that point. Congruity comes in numerous structures and influences numerous parts of people groups lives. Individuals, having related to numerous models, have fused a wide range of qualities. Presently they should coordinate, blend, and revamp these, dropping a few attributes and fortifying others. Another, one of a kind and cognizant personality rises, one in which, the entire has an unexpected quality in comparison to the whole of its parts (Buszek, 1998). For ladies around then, the conditions all schemed for this craftsmanship to prosper. Regardless of whether ladies were relied upon to keep up an unreasonable degree of propriety, still, the ladies around then were starting to acknowledge their own sexuality. They started to permit themselves sexual joys. This issue is intensified by old sentiments that sex is shameless and filthy. (Such emotions are still particularly with us even in nowadays of sexual transformation.) If a ladies, even reluctantly, still considers sex terrible, at that point it is in some cases simpler to take part in it (to try and appreciate it) is she can keep up the idea that it is the keeps an eye on doing. She is simply going along and its truly for him This mentality is a piece of the historical backdrop of what ladies should do and feel. In any case, it doesn't coordinate what she needs and accomplishes in different regions. There is an extra measurement to the sexuality found in this, and in the way of thinking behind the accomplishment of the ladies at that point. To act naturally, communicating her sexuality, is simply the last affirmation of her new which truly exists. It will demonstrate, figuratively speaking, that she truly can be the individual she is witnessing now. It will permit her to tap every last bit of her stifled energies and direct them toward her objectives. It will be, one might say, dependencys end, and she isn't exactly prepared to confront it. It appears to be terrifying yet it is likewise unrealistic. It additionally implies she is as yet requesting that a man demonstrate that her new self existsto give it his stamp of approval by means of the last test, his showing of intrigue (Buszek, 1998). For ages, ladies had been exposed to men. In the mid nineteenth century, wedded ladies couldn't go into contracts without their significant other's assent. Ladies lost all title to property or future income upon marriage while their kids were lawfully constrained by the dad. Indeed, even ladies were regularly without response against abducting or detainment by spouses and other male family members (McElroy, 1991). Ladies had no voice in what was happening around them, to what they needed their lives to be, or in any event, when it concerned their bodies. In the nineteenth century, the modern transformation made another white collar class with riches from land, exchanging, and production lines. The white collar class ladies took up Marie Gouze's goals. This started the women's activist development. These ladies were taught, and it was clear to them that there were rights they were absent. They perceived how the men of their group had gained these rights with the recently discovered riches. The objectives of the Women's Movement in the nineteenth century were to get the option to cast a ballot, to accomplish balance in property rights, access to training, access to employments and reasonable compensation, porce, and youngsters' authority (Manzano, 1999). Later on, I feel that for ladies to act and respond out of their own being is to go against their designated definition and their endorsed method of living. To push toward credibility, at that point, additionally includes creation, in a quick and squeezing individual way. The entire texture of ones life starts to change and one rethinks it. As one lady puts it, I continue seeing everything with an alternate significance now. Most days I feel as though Im adlibbing my way through. I dont follow the content I used to know. For this new and considerably more extreme individual making, there are no sure guideposts. For certain ladies, there might be anguish and tension, however there are additionally clear fulfillments and delights en route, even before there is in any way similar to a feeling of finish. 2. What do you believe are the principle wellsprings of homophobia in American culture? What is the circumstance today in America? with respect to and what do you foresee for the future, when and why? In todays society, numerous individuals experience the ill effects of homophobia because of absence of comprehension of homosexuality. Since the beginning individuals have continually received oppressive mentalities towards other people who happen to be not quite the same as them. This is like the separation concurred to different societies, races and individuals from lower social classes. The battle of gay people to get equivalent treatment is relied upon to go on, in spite of the fact that help from dissidents, the logical and mental portions of society enormously makes a difference. As opposed to the moderate point of view that homosexuality is a decision, researchers battle that gay direction results from organic, mental and social factors, and is anything but a cognizant decision that can be willfully changed (APA). Indeed, numerous gay people, at the time they are starting to find their distinctive sexual direction, battle inside themselves and attempt to change that sexual direction without progress. Without a doubt, homophobia depends on the preference towards the individuals who are unique. One of the sources is additionally the Judaeo-Christian strict convention that restricts it. From its underlying foundations in religion, homophobia has been made into an announcement as a law in numerous states and nations. (Kelly2005). Gradually, gay individuals are perceiving their various jobs in the public eye, not founded on their sexual direction, however dependent on their inpiduality. In Vivienne Cass model of gay personality development, the last advance is character union, where the inpidual perceives the help of heteros and doesn't make sexual way of life as the essential factor involved with others (Kort, Joe). As gay people progress through the coming out procedure, they understand the centrality of their being, and not being focused on the issue of sexual direction. Later on, I feel that it is genuine enough that gay people keep on confronting troubles in picking up acknowledgment and equivalent rights as the following straight individual, yet individuals from the gay network are prevailing with regards to building up a sound personality in spite of all the separation encompassing them. There will be a ton of progress to elevate the status of gay people and to gradually cultivate uniformity, to the extent that national enactment and overall population viewpoint are concerned. In any case, most of the work towards equity lies in gay people themselves. It is through their undertaking to be solid good examples and be significant advantages for their networks that the shame combined with their reality is to be lifted. Significant advances and changes would even now be fundamental before gay people are genuinely acknowledged into society. Instruction and data dependent on logical and mental research are key components for heteros to comprehend the real factors and truth about gay direction. This is seen to in all probability diminish the bias against gay people. While a world without partialities is still however a dream, gay people would improve by standing up to the issues inside themselves and not center around what others think. This would assist them with being better inpiduals deserving of acknowledgment in any general public. WORKS CITED Buszek, Maria Elena. War Goddess The Varga Girls, WWII and Feminism Issue No.6 1998. Therefore, this means that the stories they share in these samples are mostly personal accounts that are reflective of their own experiences and not necessarily reflective of others' experiences working in the medical field. The major difference between these three examples and many others, and the ones described above, is that in one case, the author worked in a hospital setting, in the other cases he/she worked in doctor's offices. However, the idea is the same: You may have a story that reflects your own experiences working in the medical field, but only your personal story is likely to reflect what it is like to work in a hospital or doctor's office setting.I have included some sample Medical Professional Graduate Writing samples because it gives me an idea of how my own personal experiences as a nurse could help inform the narrative in the stories in the sample essays. Transfer decisions are made on a daily basis Monday through Friday, and it varies on how many decisions we can make in a day due to the complexity of some transfer files. The myStatus page is updated in the early a.m. every business morning, and decisions are posted on the myStatus page and are mailed to transfer applicants. We generally try to review files based on when a file is complete (earliest to latest), but this is not an exact science due to complexities within the transfer process. During the first few weeks of August, decisions might be a bit slower than normal due to also having to input summer work for incoming/returning students, but that should slow down by the start of class (8/11). We will be reviewing Spring Freshmen applicants sometime in mid-late September after the deadline has passed and all files are ready for review. Go Dawgs!

How to Maintain Brand Consistency in a Sales Organization

For brands, few objectives matter more than creating an impactful, positive impression. Consider how Tide stirred up social media after its memorable Super Bowl LII ad campaign. Many jokes and memes sprang up through various social media channels, centered on Tide ads. If you can make a favorable first impression, you'll create a favorable conversation around your brand. Related: 15 time-tested trigger words that boost sales Keeping that conversation in your favor is a little bit trickier. It requires maintaining a consistent brand message and voice across your organization. If you go all over the map, your target audience will be confused by your messaging and you will lose their attention. Such a scenario can cause a negative ripple effect for sales and customer retention. What should you do to make sure your brand doesn't take an unintended fork in the road? Here are a few strategies to make it easier to develop brand consistency for your sales organization. Always share the right message Want to stand out from the crowd? Start by zeroing in on your target audience with a message that speaks directly to what they want and what they need. Find a message that works and stick with it. One mistake an organization can make is to tinker with a message too much. If you persist in changing your message, your brand loses its focus and purpose. Brand consistency isn't achieved if your brand never establishes a clear voice or identity. When your target audience doesn't really know who you are or what you do, it's tough to expect them to remember or come back to you. Communicate a clear brand message across the board with marketing (from print ads to social media) to sales (from initial pitch to closing time). Figure out who you want to reach with your message, then focus your energies on reaching that audience again and again. Find your niche Consumers have come to expect a certain level of innovation and customization in the products and services they use. They're excited by new creations or a fresh spin on a traditional product. You can use those expectations to your advantage. It starts with being creative in your pitch. Find ways to show your target audience why they should choose you over your competitor. If your brand voice feels unique, you can progress up the sales food chain. If you don't find ways to be unique, you get devoured by the latest trendy new thing. Identifying your brand's natural niche can help you develop better brand consistency. Apple flourishes, for example, because it focuses exclusively on creating sleek, innovative products. It's a brand that knows what its audience wants, and it tailors each product to meet those expectations. Focus on your strengths. A big mistake with branding is trying to do too much. It isn't an effective strategy to be a jack-of-all-trades with all people. If your brand ventures too far into foreign territory, it can send a signal that your organization is desperate or out of touch. A brand's voice should be clear, compelling, unique and believable in each interaction with its target audience. Guard your perception Your brand voice is defined by how people see it. Influencing how people perceive your organization or your products is as important as getting consumers to buy from you. Everything from demos to packaging impact the overall perception of your brand. Social media can be a powerful tool for crafting and shaping your relationships. Interacting with consumers and potential consumers can make it easier for you to create a conversation. If done well, you can support a strong brand identity in the process. Social media channels are an incubator for ideas and will spur growth for your organization if used in the right way. They're a great way to engage with customers and make your brand feel accessible. These same channels can turn into brand killers, however, if you fail to connect with your audience and fail to stay consistent in your brand voice. Pay attention to brand guidelines If your marketing team is worth its snuff, it's already created brand style & usage guidelines to ensure all messaging stays consistent. These guides cover how to use various brand assets in internal & external communications. They can cover items ranging from appropriate fonts for brochures & flyers to the correct use of logos & slogans in advertisements. Such guides not only help your organization's marketing team, but they also serve as a useful reference for other employees, managers and departments—including sales. Brand guides should align with your organization's overall vision and mission. Brand consistency is much easier to achieve when it's grounded in the core principles that drive your organization. Always refer back to your brand guidelines when developing sales content and planning your outreach efforts. Customers will find you through more than one channel, which means multiple avenues exist to make a good first impression. Creating brand consistency across all of these channels is important for keeping your brand strong. Streamline brand consistency with Lucidpress Using document templates & social media templates can help your organization achieve the goal of building a consistent brand. Introduction: When people discuss regarding acquiring another firm, the phrase due diligence comes up earlier or afterwards. Usually, authentic definitions of due diligence say a little such as: Due diligence is a measure of prudence, activity or assiduity, as is properly to be expected from, and ordinarily exercised by, a reasonable and prudent person under the particular circumstances (E. Gattiker, 2007). According to the G. Andrade, M. Mitchell Mergers signify massive reallocations of assets within the economy, both inside and outside industries, in 1995, the value of acquisitions and mergers about equally 5 percent of GDP and was equivalent to 48 percent of non-residential investment. From the firms perspective, mergers describes as a quite unusual events, often enabling a firm to double its size in a matter of months. As a result, measure value creation (or destruction) resulting from mergers and determining how this incremental value is scattered among merger participants are two of the vital objectives in finance and business merger research. Don’t waste time! Our writers will create an original "Due diligence" essay for you Create order Merger and acquisition has a very significant role in the financial management and the corporate finance. For number of organisation it is a one of the source of the extended development through the external growth when the organic growth is not possible, on the other hand to other organisation it is signify as a steady danger to their progressing independent survival. According to the Watson and Head 2007, merger is defined as a reorganisation of assets into new organisation i.e. A and B merge to become C, a new company, with the agreement of both sets of shareholders. M A is not only the simple merger and acquisition, whereas it combination of the strategic alliance and the joint venture of the participating firms. It includes carves- out, pin offs, divestitures, tracking stocks and the restructuring activities. In merger and acquisition there is change in the ownership of the firm occurs through the repurchasing of the shares, leverage buyouts, leverage recapitalisation and the dual class recapitalisation. Merger and the acquisition activities are not substitution activities for the internal improvement rather it is an addition.(J. Fred Weston, Samuel C. Weaver 2001) J. Fred Weston, Samuel C. Weaver 2001 describes mergers as a horizontal, vertical and conglomerates, in Horizontal merger two firms which were operating in same industry, in vertical merger where two firms are operating in different production operation and in conglomerates mergers it is occurs in two different unrelated businesses. In last century there was great deal about the characteristic change in merger and acquisition. The studies conducted show that the mergers create the wealth of the share holders, by most of the gains accruing to the target organisation. This paper shows the evidence on merger and acquisition on stock liquidity. The study conducted by the economist shows that the merger and acquisition has many causes, to increase the economies of scale, to increase the market value, to create the market power, it helps to reduced the inefficient management, it helps to expand the business, it is chance to diversify the capabilities from one business to other business. The theories shows that the some merger in last century and shows the understanding of the what are measure for the acquisition. From above it is clear that merger is better sometimes than that of other options. Since 1940s active enforcement antitrust laws has make the merger power difficult to achieve. The diversification merger in 1960s and studies shows that these mergers where comes under the failure category. Till 1980 mergers as one the key financial measure not much utilised by the companies, but the takeover was the one the key financial instrument on that time (G. Andrade, M. Mitchell, and E. Stafford 2001). Studies conducted by Mulherin Mitchell in 1996 has explained that the mergers take place by building through the two important empirical features of mergers since last century 1) it is occurs in waves 2) it is (mergers) strongly cluster by industries. This above features shows that the mergers are occurs due to the unexpected experience felt by the industry structure. This ground is a potentially productive one to discover from both a academic and experiential point of view. It is seems that the experience of the persons who were working in those field and analyst that industries tend to re- formed their structure and try to consolidate in concentrated duration of that era, that those changes happened suddenly and very difficult to visualize. Although identify industry shock and document their outcome were challenging. study shows that merger as a instruments in 1990s, as a last decades is heavily clustered by industry. In this activity of merger and acquisition, industry shocks explain a big portion of merger activity does not really make clear the mechanism involved, which bring the issues least about, 1) the long-term effects of mergers, 2) what make some successful as compared to others. Merger is always seems to be creation of total value for shareholders but the during announcement time earning from the M A is an entire target of an individual shareholders, but by acquiring firm shareholders become visible to come dangerously close to actually subsidizing these transactions. However, the picture is not quite complete. The results hide an important distinction based on the financing of these transactions. In, mergers finance with stock, at least partially, has different value effects from mergers that are financed without any stock. From the acquiring firms point of view, stock-financed mergers can be view as simultaneous transactions: an equity issue and merger. On average, equity issues are associated with reliably negative abnormal returns throughout the few days adjoining the announcement. Various models have developed to describe this finding, mostly focus on information differences between managers and outside investors (Myers and Majluf, 1984). Decision regarding the merger and acquisition majorly affects the firms vision for future endeavours. The past studies shows the valuable information regarding the effects of mergers and acquisition, but these information is still very less for the effects of M A on stock liquidity on big corporate events. In our study we try to find out the M A effects on the stock liquidity of different organisation in pre-merger and acquisition 120 days data and post M A. 120 days data. In financial studies it is shows that the stock liquidity is directly related to the equity price. Study conducted by the Amihud and Mendelsons in 1986 shows that the increased liquidity decreases the cost of equity capital by decreasing the reward required by the investor in trade difficulties. In another study by the Amihud Mendelsons in 1988 shows that the managers find out different ways to enhance liquidity of their stocks for the benefit of the share-holders liquid securities. There are only few evidences shows that the direct evidence that stock liquidity is important from the corporate or finance managers. The purpose of our study is to find out the relationship between the stock liquidity and before 12o days of merger and 120 days post merger and acquisition activity. As shown by Amihud and Mendelsons in 1986 and 1988 a lower cost of capital will not only increase the present value of existing assets but also widen the profitable investment opportunity. Analysis Of St. Vincent Millay s Love Is Not All (...

Part 1: Scansion and Analysis In Edna St. Vincent Millay’s â€Å"Love is Not All (Sonnet XXX),† the poem’s writer originally discredits the value of love, claiming that it is not essential because it does not support life; however, later Millay describes that love has some value. Love Is Not All is a Italian or Petrarchan sonnet, with fourteen lines of rhymed iambic pentameter. It has one stanza and it uses the rhyme scheme of a Shakespearean sonnet with three quatrains and a couplet. Each line contains between 7-10 words, the average line containing nine words. The poem includes the two main elements of a sonnet, an octave and sestet. The first six lines of the poem are the octave. During this section of the poem, the author has a negative tone towards love. Her diction includes words like â€Å"not† or â€Å"nor† to stress the idea that love is unnecessary. The switch or climax of the poem occurs during the seventh line, and is marked by the word â€Å"yet†. This choice of diction foreshadows the second idea of the poem, that love has some value. The eighth line starts the sestet of the poem and changes the tone of the poem to a more optimistic outlook. Douglas 2 Part 2: Explication Through the use of poetic devices such as repetition or alliteration, the author originally describes what love is not capable of providing and defines love as unnecessary but by the end of the poem, the author reveals that love has some value. The first four words of the poem are, â€Å"love is not all†.

Israel has a Failed State Index Score Due to the West Bank...

Israel According to the US-based Failed States Index (FSI), Israel ranks number 67 and is in greater danger of becoming a failed state than the likes of Congo, Cuba and Jordan. Despite Israel’s booming economy, high life expectancy and low unemployment, part of the explanation for its low FSI ranking is the West Bank. According to the Fund for Peace’s methodology, Israel/West Bank is considered one entity when determining its Failed States Index score. The issues Israel/ West Bank scored highest on the FIS were; external intervention (8), factionalized elites (8), human rights (8), group grievance (9.3), and refugees (8). Other sources of Israels instability stems from the Israeli–Palestinian conflict, inequality, internal breakdown and†¦show more content†¦In response to attacks Israel began building the anti-terrorism fence to stop West Bank terrorists from killing Israeli citizens. Whatever analysis is put on the history, there can be no disputing that the Palestinian Territories (Gaza and the West Bank) have been occupied by Israel since the Six Day War and that this occupation has had profound implications for the development of the two occupied territories. The opposing sides have been in an almost continuous state of armed conflict. The longer the Israeli-Palestinian conflict continue, the weaker Israel as a modern state will become. Regional Implications from Israel’s Instability The West Bank continues to remain an occupied territory with Israel being the occupying power. Israels policies in the West Bank have displaced a million Palestinians, forcing them into refugee status which in turn has led to a refugee influx in neighboring country, Jordan. Palestinian existence in the West Bank is being increasingly confined to ghettos cut off from farmland, schools, medical care and from other Palestinians. Some would argue that Israels aggressive policies against Palestinians provoke terror attacks on Israeli citizens. The resort to terrorist acts by Palestinians, especially suicide bombings in crowded public places, has caused them to lose much of the international sympathy their cause would otherwise benefit from. In my opinion I would like to say if smoking is not allowed in public places and office buildings then it is a good rule. There are many reasons behind this. They are as follows: In my view, smoking is not good for health. If a person who has the habit of smoking then he or she can have breathing, lungs and heart problems. The smoke of cigarette is also very harmful for health. If people smoke in public places then it is not only injurious for the smoker but also for others who do not smoke. For a healthy life, smoking is not good. The smoke of cigarette has toxic metals like Cadmium. If human body contains excess of cadmium then it creates many health problems like bone and heart diseases. For the safety of humans it is necessary to ban smoking in public and office buildings. For a good and healthy generation, ban on smoking in public places and office building is also necessary. If there is a ban then chain smokers cannot smoke and they will be safe. A lady who is pregnant and has the habit of smoking then a ban can be helpful for her child’s health. It is very important for the baby. Sometimes people can also save their money with the help of ban on smoking. People can use this money in other works. For instances, if people save money then they donate or eat healthy food. People who are allergic to smoke do not like smoking in offices and public places. These people do not feel good if any one smokes. As a good person, smokers’ should be careful and give the preference for others convenience. People can also increase their business if smoking is bane in public places and office buildings. For example, people who are chain smokers and have the habit of smoking during work that decrease their work skills and earning. The customers who do not like smoking do not like to come. Therefore, the ban can be beneficial if it increases the business. All in all I would like to say if smoking is not allowed in public places and office buildings then it is not only good for health of present and future generation but also can increase earning of people. If we want a good pollution free country, healthy life and more money then we will have to stop smoking. We should support the campaign against smoking. How to cite Smoking in Public Places, Papers

The reports that are made by the members of his department, published in newspapers and on the web. QCA objective is not the curriculum, but to help the early years professionals to create suitable curriculum. The professional that are working for early years must be provided special training and to fulfil their needs. Every Child Matter policy needs changes also like to be more creative and flexible in nature for the benefit of young ones. Its also helpful in empowering formal and informal professionals to work more confidently. It is easily applied for children having strength of 26, as 26 is not a big strength to control and take caring about them. Effectiveness of models leadership style Leadership is based on values and vision which motivate employees to do beer work (Tanuku and Edgington, 2006). The effectiveness of the models and style of leadership chosen by the Mother's Angles school should be realized in terms of social context. Thats why it is not an isolated activity of a single person, but rather that different people in team contribute to effective leadership which is therefore distributed in nature. The school's administration exhibits following characteristics 1) Being goal-oriented and set goals for himself. The ultimate goal of the school's administration is that every child develops properly and effectively such that he or she can into the main stream of the external world without any problem, get easily mingled in his society. 2) Use planning and has proper vision and confidence in his or her approach. They do regular staff meeting and planning and prepare their approaches in terms of activities for children, health care programs, proper inspections and through experimental learning they get confidence that whatever style they are adopting is according to need of children and are best practices that are being followed. 3) Having good working relationships with other workforce, kind and moderate with others who participate in leadership. The whole staff has created a better environment within the school and every person know his tasks well in advance. All of them participate in activities for children. 4) Being responsive to parents also able to communicate with them effectively. The staff organizes events for families and take proper feedback and appreciates their suggestions. In case of any emergencies, they inform parents. Small kids must be handled with love. Child brains develop most before the age of 5 years, Emphasis should be given from childcare workers to educators and that is the phase of building a scholarly base for the early childhood profession (Thomas et al., 2012). Researches have three main points to invest in children: If investment is made in the early years, it will be helpful to children in the future and be with him for a longer time. Second, if there are any changes in the atmospheres of childhood living it helps the young once. Third, the early investment for the children shows large impact, when children further go for higher education and learning. Parents who drop their child in Mothers Angle childcare can do their work better with peace which also increase their employment. They are able to provide extra income which is beneficial for children. Parents showed interest in child care only after seeing the effectiveness of professionals, and their trust and hard work help the parents to satisfy their mental level and they can do their jobs effectively (Sethuraman and Suresh, 2014). When child and parents are satisfied with growth in terms of economically and physically society automatically becomes more developed. Economically sound atmosphere reduces the crime level, especially among children, which, is the great progress of any nation (Taggart, 2015). Conclusion: Demand for care and education in early year of childhood, gaining, lots of attention in the last decade in areas like Crumpsall. The manager of Mothers Angles has an effective team and hardworking staff for special care of children. Leadership in the early years also requires certain skills and training which are important for effective leadership and these includes most common one communication services, executive and problem-solving services, personal behavioural skills and organizational skills. The present age demand has changed from childcare workers to educators and Mothers Angles in Crumsall is good example for that. References Bush, T. (2012). Art, Science, and a Balanced Life essays

Art, Science, and a Balanced Life essays One of the things that differentiate the human race from other forms of life is our ability to reason. The uniqueness of each individual, however, causes us to reason in different ways. An individual's reasoning can be categorized into two primary groups: reasoning based on emotion and instinct versus reasoning based on logic and concrete facts. These two categories are sometimes known as art and science, respectively. It is commonly believed that "Art upsets, while science reassures," however further philosophical analysis questions this, by examining "Science reassures, while art upsets" as an equally valid statement. Although both art and science are branches of knowledge that have the ability to simultaneously reassure and upset, they use different approaches in their formation. Art is the spontaneous documentation of emotions based on one's own perception of life. This is contrasted with science, which is a systemized process involving observation and experiments that results in the formation of a hypothesis leading to a theory. Science that is at the foundation is systematized, based on logic, and has a set structure. The laboratory science, however, can be messy and tentative, complicating the question of whether science upsets or reassures. A scientific fact can be fully explained, leaving nothing to chance or imagination. It is interesting to note that the famous quote, "Art upsets, science reassures", was made by the French sculptor, painter, and designer, Georges Braque. The difficulty one experiences with art is its inability to be explained due to its basis on feelings experienced by no two individuals. Art is upsetting because one cannot convey the exact picture or feelings that he has towards a piece of art. Ironically, in the words of Braque, "There is only one valuable thing in art: the thing you cannot explain." A feeling of discouragement is often felt when you cannot explain the beauty you see, instead, others m...

This serves as an ideal manual for you to write a better and more concise exploratory essay on the book. Without further ado, here are 10 Facts on The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini: The book tells a story of two boys, Amir and Hassan, who are raised in the same household and even have the same wet nurse, but are different by family and status. Amir is the son of an affluent and well-known man, whereas, Hassan is the son of a servant who works for Amir’s father. During the Soviet Union invasion, Amir and his father decide to leave Afghanistan and start a new life in California, leaving Hassan behind. The Kite Runner starts from 1973, when Zahir Shah was overthrown by the Army due to the monarchy led by him. Later, Daoud Khan, cousin and son-in law of Zahir Shah, declared himself president of the republic. Daoud claimed to be honest in his revolution and swore to eradicate corruption from Afghanistan. However, once he gained power, he changed his regimen due to which he was overthrown by the same army that brought him into power. The Kite Runner introduces a bully in its story, Assef, who’s a notorious character with violent, mean and sadistic tendencies. He is older than Amir and Hassan and tries to blame Amir for socializing with the Hazara people; i.e. Hassan, who, according to him, is from an inferior race and should only live in Hazarajat. In the book, he tries to confront and attack Amir with his brass knuckles, but Hassan plays a heroic role in defending Amir with his slingshot and threatens to shoot out Assef’s left eye. In the book, Hassan is a saint-like figure. Amir, on the other hand, is shown as a cowardice and jealousy-prone character. There are events when both these characters show pomp in their behaviors: Hassan defends Amir’s kite while he is being raped by Assef – as a means of revenge. When Amir witnessed Hassan getting raped by Assef, he doesn’t take any action. Due to his cowardice on that occasion, sheer jealousy and utter frustration due to Hassan’s saint-like behavior, and him getting more love from father than Amir the latter frames Hassan as a thief in order to get rid of him. Hassan falsely confesses – demonstrating again his saint-like characteristics. Amir is then seen to live a life of guilt within the shadows, haunted by such horrible events of the past. In Part II of the book, The Kite Runner, which takes place five years later, Amir and his father had struggled when they moved to California due to the invasion of the Soviets in Afghanistan. Before Amir’s father dies, he requests General Taheri, who’s in contempt of Amir’s literary aspiration, to let Soraya (Taheri’s daughter) and Amir marry, which General Taheri accepts without hesitation. Shortly after Amir marries Soraya, his father dies. When he settles down with his wife, he learns that they cannot have children. When Amir becomes a novelist, he receives a call from Rehan Khan, who is dying from a disease. Rehan directs Amir to meet him in Pakistan where he learns a secret that Hassan was actually his half-brother and Hassan’s father was actually not his real father, after all. The main reason Rehan Khan called Amir was to convince him to go to Kabul and rescue Hassan’s only son, Sohrab, who was being kept in an orphanage. Amir is convinced by Rehan and goes to Kabul so he can rescue Sohrab from the Taliban. In Part III of the book, it is revealed that Sohrab wasn’t in an orphanage; however, he was held captive by Assef, Amir’s childhood nemesis. Sohrab was made to dance, dressed like a woman and his statement reveals that Assef might have been raping him. The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini has one of the best, yet very childish endings, where Sohrab gets to fulfill his father’s wishes by shooting out Assef’s left eye with his slingshot. This event takes place when Sohrab, in his father’s image, saves Amir from Assef – when he cruelly beats Amir as a price for keeping him captive. In the end of the book, Sohrab is seen to be emotionally damaged as he attempts suicide upon learning that Amir would not be able to keep his promise; i.e. to take Sohrab with him and eventually adopt him. Amir breaks his promise because the U.S. authorities demand paperwork which proves Sohrab’s orphan status. Eventually, Amir takes him back to the United States where Sohrab’s frozen emotions are thawed by his father’s reminisces found in Amir. Interesting facts, aren’t they? Energy Resource Plan Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words

Energy Resource Plan - Essay Example Energy conservation is important because it is good for the environment and good for your wallet. Many exciting developments have occurred in the study of energy conservation over the past few decades. This is especially true in the field of renewable energy. Renewable energy is so named because it comes from sources that will not be depleted over time. Solar, wind and geothermal energy are all considered renewable energy sources. Non-renewable sources are carbon-based fuel sources such as coal, oil and natural gas. The shift towards using renewable energy resources for home needs is gaining momentum because it is less damaging to the environment and is becoming cost effective. All of us as members of the Home Owner’s Association can do some simple things to conserve energy. The first is to be sure that our homes are all insulated completely. This will ensure that heating and cooling systems are working to make homes comfortable, not trying to cool or heat outdoor air. The sec ond thing we can do is to work on installing the most energy efficient appliances, furnaces and air conditioners. These may be more expensive in up-front cost, but will pay themselves off over the years in energy savings. Finally, we can all begin to consider incorporating renewable energy resources in our home energy system.
